Coach Stores in Focus: Flagships, Boutiques and What to Expect
Tapestry’s annual report states that Coach closed its 2026 fiscal year, on 27 June 2026, with 973 stores it operates directly. Of that total, 336 sit in North America and 637 are international. A figure of about 1,299 stores also circulates, but that number covers all of Tapestry’s brands rather than Coach on its own. By some accounts, Tapestry has said it is planning around 50 net new Coach stores in fiscal 2027, roughly three quarters of them beyond North America. Inside that estate are flagship Coach House locations, standard full-price boutiques, department store concessions and Coach Outlet stores. Anyone looking for a coach store may therefore find anything from a multi-floor flagship to a unit in an outlet village. Taking it city by city, this guide reviews the best-recorded locations and flags any case where a store’s current status remains to be checked.

New York and the Fifth coach tabby Avenue Coach House
Coach was founded in New York in 1941, and its home city is home to its best-known flagship. The Coach House at 685 Fifth Avenue was unveiled in the fall of 2016 to mark the brand’s 75th anniversary. Reports put the store at about 20,000 square feet spread across three floors, and its design came from a collaboration with William Sofield’s Studio Sofield. Coach has reportedly taken a lease on about 13,200 square feet at 645 Fifth Avenue for a new Coach House, so the current address is not a permanent base. Coach has set 2027 as the target for the planned move, while David Yurman is reported to have leased the 685 Fifth Avenue space and is expected to open there in early 2029. As it has not been confirmed whether the current store is still operating on a given day, use Coach’s store locator before making a special trip. There is also a Coach store at 20 Hudson Yards in the locator listings, close to Tapestry’s headquarters at 10 Hudson Yards.
London and the Regent Street Coach House
Unveiled in 2016 as a global concept store, London’s Coach House sits at 200–206 Regent Street. Studio Sofield also designed the London store, which gives it a family resemblance to the New York flagship. A Craftsmanship Bar for monogramming and personalisation was described in coverage at the time. Made-to-order Rogue pieces reportedly require around 12 weeks, or about 16 weeks for exotic skins, with a Made to Order bar for the Rogue bag reported as well. Beware of the wrong opening year: one retail-district listing shows a much later page date, and some writers have been misled by it. On its August 2026 earnings call, Tapestry noted that the UK, together with some wholesale business, is the only part of Europe where Coach has material market penetration, according to a published transcript. Anyone planning a personalisation appointment should confirm which services are on offer at present before visiting.
Tokyo and Ginza
In Japan, Coach’s flagship stands in Tokyo’s Ginza district. The store, updated in 2015, goes back to the first Japanese flagship, which opened there in 2002. Coverage of the relaunch says that the studio CURIOSITY reimagined the store, which reopened on 19 December 2025. On the services side, Japan also matters: select Japanese stores reportedly take part in the Coach (Re)Loved trade-in exchange. Outlet items and canvas styles are reportedly not accepted, while the scheme welcomes gently worn all-leather retail bags. Because it was not confirmed which Japanese stores participate, contact the store before bringing a bag along. Just as with every flagship in this guide, you should check opening hours and services shortly before a visit.
Greater China: An Old Shanghai Record, Plus Hong Kong and Chongqing
Coach’s large stores in Greater China are less well recorded than those in New York or London. Going by a record that is now out of date, a flagship of about 7,000 square feet opened on Huai Hai Middle Road in Shanghai in April 2010. Its current status was not verifiable, so do not assume the Shanghai store is still trading today. It has also been reported that Coach runs a global flagship in Hong Kong and a two-storey glass flagship in Chongqing. Similarly, no opening date was confirmed for either of the two stores. The annual report shows 637 international stores within Coach’s 973 directly operated stores, yet it does not list them city by city. Visitors should rely on Coach’s local store locator rather than old press reports when planning a visit.
Boutiques and Concessions in Britain
Beyond Regent Street, Coach’s UK store locator lists full-price stores at Westfield London in White City and at Westfield Stratford City. The London list also includes St Pancras and the Promenade Level at Canary Wharf. Away from London, the documented full-price store sits at the Bullring in Birmingham. Coach also operates through concessions inside Harrods in Knightsbridge and Selfridges on Oxford Street, where a Coach Playground space has been promoted. No stores were confirmed in Manchester, Edinburgh or further cities, so check before presuming a local branch exists. For anyone searching coach uk locations, this list includes the documented full-price options at the time of writing. Each listed store has its own page on Coach’s UK website, which is the safest place to confirm hours and services.

Coach Outlet Locations
Coach Outlet stores are part of Coach’s own network, not independent discounters, and Coach marks them as outlets in its store locator. Typically, the stores sit in outlet centres; in the United States, Coach has reportedly opened Coach Coffee Shop concepts at Jersey Gardens and Woodbury Common. Verified Coach Outlet stores in Britain trade at Bicester Village, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Ashford Designer Outlet. Check before travelling to York Designer Outlet, since a store there has been reported but not confirmed. Part of the stock in outlet stores is made for the outlet channel, yet today’s mix is unknown, since the only share figure found, around 85%, dates from 2014. Alongside earlier-season styles, the ranges also include some full-price collection product under the reported “One Coach” strategy. Anyone planning a coach outlet trip should review current offers first, because promotions change and coupon-site sale calendars could not be verified.
What to Expect Inside a Coach Store
A regular full-price coach store puts the focus on the current handbag range, while also stocking small leather goods, clothing and shoes. Among the recognisable bag families in 2026 are the Tabby (introduced in 2019), the Brooklyn (introduced in August 2024) and the Empire Carryall (brought out in February 2025). Treat these as market observations rather than an official price list: observed US prices put a Tabby 26 at $475 and an Empire Carryall 34 at $450. Some stores also take part in the (Re)Loved trade-in, which runs in North America retail stores plus select UK and Japan stores. Based on reports, Coach Insider, Coach’s free loyalty programme, covers both Coach and Coach Outlet, so one membership applies to both formats. Because Coach says it does not authenticate merchandise, a receipt from a Coach store is useful proof of where a coach bag came from. In charge of creative direction is Stuart Vevers, who remains Creative Director in 2026; his appointment was announced in June 2013.
Planning Your Visit
Above all while the New York flagship prepares to move, a little preparation spares you wasted journeys. Start with Coach’s store locator for the country you are visiting, since it sets apart full-price stores from Coach Outlet locations. Make sure your bag is all leather rather than canvas, and that the specific store participates, if you want a trade-in. Check in advance whether the personalisation or made-to-order service you want is running. On 1 January 2021, tax-free shopping for tourists in Great Britain ended, so visitors to Britain can expect no VAT refund to plan around. Each receipt shows where a bag was bought in case questions arise later, so hold on to all of them. Review current promotions before a long journey to an outlet centre, because offers change frequently.
- Revisit the store locator on the day you travel.
- Confirm that the store participates in trade-ins and that your bag is eligible.
- Plan ahead for personalisation services.
- Every purchase deserves a receipt you hold on to.
